Saginaw Bay CISMA

The SB-CISMA is geographically defined within the geopolitical boundaries of Arenac, Bay, Huron, Sanilac, Saginaw, and Tuscola Counties, all whose waters drain into the Saginaw Bay. The actual boundary of the SB-CISMA is 5 of the Saginaw Bay shoreline counties plus Saginaw County. This area holds one of the largest freshwater coastal wetland in the United States with rivers and natural sand beach shoreline. Many of these coastal wetlands have been taken over by the non-native plants which have choked out native plants and wildlife.
